Fairfield and Vacaville residents, along with those in Vallejo and Southwestern Solano County, should prepare for strong winds. The National Weather Service (NWS) Sacramento has issued a Wind Advisory effective from 11 PM this evening, October 9, until 7 AM PDT Saturday, October 10.

Southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 45 mph, are expected. These conditions are anticipated across Central Solano County, including Fairfield and Vacaville, as well as Southwestern Solano County, including Vallejo. The strongest winds are projected to occur overnight.

Impacts may include unsecured objects being blown around and potential damage to seasonal decor. Tree limbs could be brought down, and isolated power outages are possible. The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Exercise extra caution if driving during this period.
