Ichabod Crane School District $51.9M Budget Vote May 19
Ichabod Crane Central School District voters will decide on a $51.9 million budget for the 2026-27 school year on May 19. The Board of Education unanimously approved the spending plan on April 21.
The budget maintains the district's instructional programs. District officials surveyed the community to identify priorities and incorporated feedback from staff, students, families and residents.
Three candidates are running for three Board of Education seats with full three-year terms beginning July 1, 2026. Kelly Firmbach and Christopher Scoville, both current board members, seek re-election. Betsy Thorleifson is also running.
The district will hold a budget hearing May 5 at 7 p.m. in the High School Library. The High School Participatory Government Class will host a Meet the Candidates Night on May 11 at 6 p.m., also in the library.
Polls open at 8 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. on May 19 in the High School Gymnasium. Voters will cast ballots for both the budget and board candidates.
