Three Candidates File for Ichabod Crane School Board

Betsy Thorleifson, Kelly Firmbach and Christopher Scoville filed nominating petitions to run for three open seats on the Ichabod Crane Central School District Board of Education in the May 19 election.

Firmbach and Scoville seek re-election to three-year terms beginning July 1, 2026. Thorleifson challenges incumbent Max DiOrio's seat.

Voters can meet the candidates at a forum hosted by the high school's Participatory Government Class on Monday, May 11 at 6 p.m. in the High School Library. The district will stream the event online.

The district holds its Annual Budget Hearing on May 5 at 7 p.m. in the High School Library. Budget details appear on the district website and in the annual Budget Newsletter mailed to residents after the hearing.

Polls open May 19 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the High School Gymnasium for the school budget vote and board election. Voters must appear on either the County Voter Registration List or the School District Listing to cast a ballot.
