Miami, Okla. — Northeastern Oklahoma A&M graduate Jadyn McDonald has been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Chancellor Glen D. Johnson Scholarship in Leadership and Public Service, one of Oklahoma’s most prestigious student leadership awards. The Chancellor Glen D. Johnson Scholarship in Leadership and Public Service honors former Oklahoma Chancellor Glen D. Johnson’s commitment to increasing the number of college graduates in Oklahoma while preparing students to meet the demands of today’s workforce and serve their communities through public service. Each year, six students from Oklahoma’s public colleges and universities are selected for the scholarship based on their leadership experience, community engagement, and demonstrated interest in public service. McDonald was one of only two students selected from Oklahoma’s public two-year colleges. Scholarship recipients must be Oklahoma residents, enrolled full-time, maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrate outstanding leadership and service through both campus and community involvement. During her time at NEO, McDonald distinguished herself through her academic achievement, leadership roles, agricultural involvement, and dedication to serving others. Her participation in livestock production, rodeo, FFA, Farm Bureau, and agricultural leadership programs helped shape her passion for strengthening rural communities and supporting the agricultural industry. “Receiving the Chancellor Glen D. Johnson Scholarship in Leadership and Public Service is both an honor and a blessing,” McDonald said. “As a student who has worked hard to balance academics, leadership roles, community service, and agricultural involvement, this scholarship serves as a reminder that dedication and service to others are valued and appreciated. This support helps me continue pursuing my educational goals while reducing the financial burden of college expenses. I am grateful to those who make this scholarship possible and for their investment in students who are committed to making a positive impact in their communities.” This fall, McDonald will attend West Texas A&M University to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business and Communications. She plans to build a career that supports agricultural producers and strengthens rural communities through leadership, advocacy, and service.
