Wind Advisory Issued: Secure Outdoor Objects Amidst 50 MPH Gusts
A Wind Advisory has been issued for higher elevations of Fayette, Westmoreland, and Indiana Counties from this evening until Sunday afternoon, with gusts up to 50 mph expected; residents are urged to secure outdoor objects.
Residents in the higher elevations of Fayette, Westmoreland, and Indiana Counties are advised to secure outdoor objects as a Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Pittsburgh PA. The advisory is effective from 8:00 PM this evening, October 10, until 2:00 PM EDT on Sunday, October 11.
Southeast winds are expected to reach 20 to 25 mph, with gusts between 40 to 50 mph. These strong winds could blow around unsecured items, and there is a risk of tree limbs being blown down, potentially leading to power outages.
The NWS Pittsburgh PA instructs the public to secure any outdoor objects that could be impacted by high winds. For reporting downed trees, power lines, or large branches, contact NWS Pittsburgh PA directly by calling 412-262-1988, posting to their Facebook page, or using X (formerly Twitter) @NWSPittsburgh.
