Residents in Baker, Inland Nassau, Union, Bradford, Western Clay, Western Duval, and Western Charlton counties should prepare for a strong thunderstorm. The National Weather Service (NWS) Jacksonville FL issued a Special Weather Statement at 6:35 PM EDT on October 3, 2026, indicating wind gusts of approximately 40 mph and minor flooding from heavy rainfall.

This storm, currently located near Maxville and 10 miles northeast of Raiford, is moving northeast at 15 mph. It is expected to impact areas including Macclenny, Glen St. Mary, Cecil Field, Maxville, Oakleaf Plantation, Bryceville, Baldwin, and Lawtey. The statement is effective immediately and expires at 7:15 PM EDT tonight.

The NWS advises that gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and displace unsecured objects. Torrential rainfall may lead to localized flooding. If you are outdoors, seek shelter inside a building. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
