The warning is in effect until 6:15 PM PDT today, September 16. As of 5:30 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 15 miles northwest of Covelo, moving southwest at 10 mph. This storm is capable of producing quarter-size hail.
The primary impact expected is damage to vegetation. Mainly rural areas within North Central Mendocino and Southern Trinity Counties are affected.
The National Weather Service advises seeking shelter inside a well-built structure and staying away from windows. This storm is capable of producing large hail.
