A Heat Advisory has been issued for Southwestern Interior Mendocino, Southeastern Interior Mendocino, Western Lake, Southwestern Lake, and Eastern Lake counties, effective immediately until 11:00 PM PDT tonight, October 4th. Residents in these areas should take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Eureka CA issued the advisory at 10:47 AM PDT. High temperatures up to 101 degrees Fahrenheit are expected, with overnight temperatures remaining above 65 degrees. This forecast indicates a moderate to localized high HeatRisk.

To protect against heat illness, the NWS advises residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and remain out of the sun. It is also crucial to check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable to extreme heat.
