Residents and visitors in Door, Kewaunee, and Manitowoc Counties are advised to remain out of Lake Michigan waters due to a Beach Hazards Statement issued by the National Weather Service Green Bay WI. High waves and dangerous currents are expected through late tonight, September 30, until 4:00 AM CDT on October 1.

Dangerous swimming conditions are anticipated. Strong currents can pull individuals into deeper water, and high waves pose a risk of sweeping people off piers. Several specific beaches are particularly susceptible to these hazardous conditions, including Rock Island State Beach, Baileys Harbor beaches, and Whitefish Dunes Beach in Door County; Cresent Beach and City of Kewaunee Beach in Kewaunee County; and Point Beach, Neshotah Beach, and Red Arrow Beach in Manitowoc County.

To ensure safety, the National Weather Service instructs everyone to remain out of the water. This alert is effective immediately and expires at 4:00 AM CDT on October 1.
