The Red Flag Warning previously in effect for the Owyhee Mountains and Southern Highlands has expired as of 8:00 PM MDT on Friday, October 9, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) Boise ID issued the update, stating that conditions no longer support the warning.

According to the NWS Boise ID, wind gusts were recorded between 20 to 30 mph at 8:00 PM MDT, but relative humidity has increased. These improved conditions led to the expiration of the warning.

Residents in the affected areas should remain aware of local conditions. No specific instructions were provided by the NWS with the expiration of this warning.
