Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Graham, Pima, Pinal Counties Until 11 AM MST
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for parts of Graham, Pima, and Pinal counties, effective until 11:00 AM MST today, September 29, with 60 mph wind gusts and potential for flash flooding.
Residents in parts of Graham, Pima, and Pinal counties are urged to seek immediate shelter as a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect until 11:00 AM MST today, September 29.
The National Weather Service in Tucson, AZ, issued the warning at 10:22 AM MST. A severe thunderstorm was located near Mount Lemmon/Summerhaven, moving northeast at 30 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts. Impacted locations include Mount Lemmon/Summerhaven and Redington.
Radar indicates the potential for damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds. While not currently a tornado warning, tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms; if one is sighted, seek shelter immediately in an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built structure.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. The warning is in effect until 11:00 AM MST.
