Wind Advisory Issued for Western Pima and South Central Pinal Counties

A Wind Advisory has been issued for Western Pima and South Central Pinal Counties, effective Sunday from 2 AM to 11 PM MST, with strong winds and gusts up to 55 mph expected.

A Wind Advisory has been issued for Western Pima County, including Ajo and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the Tohono O'odham Nation, and South Central Pinal County, including Eloy and Picacho Peak State Park. The National Weather Service in Tucson, AZ issued the advisory today, October 10, at 12:17 PM MST, effective from Sunday, October 11, at 2:00 AM MST until 11:00 PM MST.

Strong sustained south to southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected, with gusts reaching 45-55 mph. The strongest wind gusts are anticipated near showers and thunderstorms. These conditions can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Residents are advised to use extra caution when traveling.

Impacts may include unsecured objects being blown around, downed tree limbs, and potential power outages. Secure outdoor items and be prepared for possible disruptions. The advisory is in effect for the specified areas throughout Sunday.
