A Wind Advisory has been issued for Western Pima County, including Ajo and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, the Tohono O'odham Nation, and South Central Pinal County, including Eloy and Picacho Peak State Park. The advisory is effective from 2 AM MST on Sunday, October 9th, until 11 PM MST on Sunday, October 9th.
The National Weather Service in Tucson, AZ, reports sustained south to southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching 45-55 mph. The strongest gusts are anticipated near showers and thunderstorms.
These conditions may cause unsecured objects to be blown around. There is also a risk of tree limbs being downed and localized power outages. Drivers, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, should exercise extreme caution as strong winds can make driving difficult.
