Residents in Eastern Monongalia, Preston, and Tucker counties should immediately secure outdoor objects in anticipation of a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Pittsburgh PA.

The advisory is in effect from 8 PM this evening, October 10, until 11 AM EDT Sunday, October 11. Affected areas include the Ridges of Eastern Monongalia and Northwestern Preston, Preston, Eastern Preston, Western Tucker, and Eastern Tucker counties.

Southeast winds are expected to reach 20 to 35 mph, with gusts between 40 to 50 mph. These strong winds may blow around unsecured objects. There is also a risk of downed tree limbs and potential power outages.

If you observe downed trees, power lines, or large branches, report them by calling 412-262-1988, posting to the NWS Pittsburgh Facebook page, or using X (formerly Twitter) @NWSPittsburgh.
