At 5:40 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was detected 15 miles northwest of Covelo, moving southwest at 10 mph. The primary hazard associated with this storm is quarter-sized hail. Radar indicated this threat, and damage to vegetation is expected.
Those in the affected regions should seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing large hail. The NWS advises taking these precautions to ensure personal safety.
