Fire Prevention Week 2023 is here, and this year's theme is "Fire Won't Wait. Plan Your Escape." The Dumfries-Triangle Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. joins fire departments across the country in promoting this vital message. During Fire Prevention Week, we aim to educate our community on the importance of having a home fire escape plan. Knowing what to do and where to go in case of a fire can save lives. We encourage all residents to discuss their escape plan with their families, practice it regularly, and ensure smoke alarms are installed and working on every level of the home and inside bedrooms. A fire can spread rapidly, and there may be little time to escape once the smoke alarms sound.
