Court Halts Treasure Island Commissioner Recall Election
The Second District Court of Appeals issued a temporary stay on March 23, 2026, blocking the recall election for Treasure Island City Commissioner Arthur Czyszczon scheduled for April 21. The court halted all election preparations pending further direction.
District 3 residents had gathered enough petition signatures to trigger the recall vote under Florida Statutes 100.361. The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections verified the petitions in time for the April 21 election at the Treasure Island Community Center.
Had voters approved the recall, the City Commission would have chosen a successor within 30 days to serve the remainder of Czyszczon's term, which ends in March 2027.
