WASHINGTON D.C. – The Trump administration has reported significant achievements in border security, crime reduction, and economic policy during its tenure, according to recent statements from the White House.
In less than two years, the administration claims to have enacted consequential governing actions. Key initiatives highlighted include securing the nation's borders, reducing violent crime rates, promoting American energy production, and implementing tax cuts for working families.
Regarding border security, the administration stated it ended the "catch-and-release" policy and has not released illegal immigrants into the country for 15 consecutive months. The U.S. reportedly recorded negative net migration in 2025 for the first time in at least 50 years. More than three million migrants have reportedly left the country during President Trump's second term, a reduction attributed to enhanced border enforcement. Asylum is now reportedly granted in only 7% of cases, a decrease from over 50% under the previous administration. The administration also reported stopping over 10,000 narcoterrorists and arresting more than 10,000 illegal alien gang members. Major foreign cartels, including Tren de Aragua, MS-13, and Clan del Golfo, were designated as terrorist organizations. Legislation such as the Laken Riley Act, HALT Fentanyl Act, and Secure America Act were signed into law, aiming to mandate detention for violent illegal alien criminals and classify fentanyl-related substances as Schedule I drugs. Fentanyl trafficking at the southern border reportedly collapsed by 56%, and fentanyl-linked deaths decreased by 22% in a single year. The administration also revoked over 175,000 visas and launched a crackdown on illegal alien CDL fraud.
In terms of public safety, the administration reported that the U.S. murder rate fell to a historic low in 2025, marking the lowest level in 125 years, following the largest annual drop in violent crime in American history. Preliminary data for the first half of 2026 indicated a further decrease in violent crime by 10%, murders by 23%, and rapes by 18.6% compared to the same period last year. The administration also stated it captured nine of the FBI's Ten Most Wanted fugitives and five of the FBI's Most Wanted Fraudsters. A campaign to improve safety in Washington, D.C. reportedly resulted in over 17,000 arrests and a reduction in homicides by more than 50%.
Economically, the administration pointed to a "blue-collar boom" driven by lower taxes and increased investment. President Trump is credited as the first president in modern history to lower prescription drug prices, achieving the biggest drop in 63 years. The Working Families Tax Cuts were enacted, including provisions for no tax on tips, overtime, or Social Security, and no tax on Made-in-America car loan interest. Trump Accounts were established, providing eligible American children with a tax-advantaged investment account and a $1,000 government seed contribution. The administration reported the biggest tax refund season on record, with 97% of filers receiving a tax cut. The America First trade agenda has reportedly secured over 20 new trade deals, encouraging companies to re-shore production.
