Residents in the Great Salt Lake Desert and Mountains area should exercise caution today due to a Wind Advisory now in effect. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City has issued the advisory, warning of strong southeast winds.

The advisory is active from 10:31 AM MDT today, October 11, until 9:00 PM MDT this evening. Expected winds will be sustained at 20 to 30 mph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 55 mph.

These strong winds may make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles and those towing trailers. Unsecured outdoor objects could be blown around, and isolated power outages are possible. Residents are advised to secure loose items outdoors and use extra caution if traveling.
