Eligibility InformationThe Division of Parks and Recreation utilizes the ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) Budget and Assessment Tool to determine the eligibility of applicants seeking Financial Assistance.  Eligible Applications must reside within Frederick County.  Financial Assistance is based on family income and may require the applicant to pay a portion of the program fee.  Financial Assistance may not be applied to field trips, special events, birthday parties, or facility rentals.Check your Eligibility - ALICE Budget and Assessment ToolPercentage below the threshold will determine the Percentage of Discount0% Financial Assistance Discount for all households above the ALICE Threshold25% Financial Assistance Discount for all households 1%-49% below the ALICE Threshold50% Financial Assistance Discount for all households 50%-63% below the ALICE Threshold75% Financial Assistance Discount for all households 64%-~75% below the ALICE Threshold100% Financial Assistance Discount for all households that are below the ALICE Poverty Threshold.ApplyingApplications must be received at least 10 business days prior to the start of the program.  Participants will be notified by phone, email, or mail regarding the status of their application.  Applicants will be registered for the program only after their application has been approved.Access the Financial Assistance ApplicationPaymentIf your application is approved and you owe a portion of the program fee, the payment will be due immediately.AppealsApplicants who are denied assistance have the right to appeal.  All appeals must be submitted in writing to the Frederick County Parks and Recreation Division Director no later than 10 business days from the date of denial.  an appeal must state the reason the applicant feels they should receive assistance and any special situations and/or verification that would help with the re-determination.Attendance/RefundsFailure to attend a program or excessive withdrawals may affect future financial assistance.  If you want to withdraw from a program, please call 301-600-2353.  All withdrawals must be made no less than 10 business days prior to the start of the program.  Frederick County Parks and Recreation Cancellation, Customer Withdraw, and Refund PolicyCap / LimitThere is a financial assistance limit of $200 per individual per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30) and a $450 per household per fiscal year cap.TransportationThe Division does not provide transportation for programs.
