A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service in Memphis, TN, effective immediately until 8:00 PM CDT today, October 10th. Northeast winds of 15 to 25 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching up to 50 mph.

This advisory impacts a wide area, including counties in East Arkansas (Clay, Greene, Craighead, Poinsett, Mississippi, Cross, Crittenden, St. Francis, Lee, Phillips), North Mississippi (DeSoto, Marshall, Benton, Tippah, Alcorn, Tishomingo, Tunica, Tate, Prentiss, Coahoma, Quitman, Panola, Lafayette, Union, Pontotoc, Tallahatchie, Yalobusha, Calhoun), Southeast Missouri (Dunklin, Pemiscot), and West Tennessee (Lake, Obion, Weakley, Henry, Dyer, Gibson, Carroll, Benton, Lauderdale, Tipton, Haywood, Crockett, Madison, Chester, Henderson, Decatur, Shelby, Fayette, Hardeman, McNairy, Hardin).

Gusty winds are anticipated to blow around unsecured objects. There is also a risk of tree limbs being blown down, which could lead to power outages in some areas. Drivers, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, should exercise extreme caution due to difficult driving conditions. Community members are advised to secure any outdoor objects that could be moved by strong winds.
