MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF WISNER, NEBRASKA APRIL 2, 2024 CALL TO ORDER: Mayor Kurt Rice called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. ROLL CALL: Present: Mayor Rice, Council Members: B. Barthel, R. Binkholder, R. Dizmang, S. Foster, D. Harms, J. H. Meyer. ABSENT: None. Also Present: City Administrator Jason L. Hoffman, City Clerk Brenda E. Schueler, City Attorney Jon R. Zimmerman, Police Chief Kevin A. Johnson, Public Works Director Chad L. Fago, Visitors: 5. PUBLICATION OF NOTICE: The City Clerk stated that the notice of this meeting was published in the Wisner News Chronicle on March 27, 2024, and posted at the City Hall and Wisner Public Library on March 27, 2024. OPENING PRAYER: Was offered by Council Member Meyer. INDEPENDENCE DAY: The Council reviewed and approved the plan for the Independence Day celebration. Details are still being finalized, but preliminary plans include fireworks, a parade, and community events. CITY HALL EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROJECT: The Council discussed the ongoing exterior lighting project at City Hall. Updates on the progress and any encountered issues were shared. ZONING ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: The Zoning Administrator presented a report on recent zoning matters and permits issued. This included a review of new construction and potential zoning code updates. FINANCIAL REPORTS: The Council reviewed the monthly financial reports, including budget versus actual spending for various city departments. CLAIMS: The Council approved the claims presented for payment. Any other business that may come before the Council. (No additional business was brought forth at this time). ADJOURNMENT: Mayor Rice declared the meeting adjourned at 8:30 PM.
