Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Terrell County Urged to Seek Shelter Immediately
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is in effect for East central Terrell County until 8:30 PM CDT, with residents urged to seek immediate shelter from 60 mph winds and quarter-size hail.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for East central Terrell County in southwestern Texas, effective immediately until 8:30 PM CDT tonight, September 30.
Residents are advised by the National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa TX to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection. At 7:53 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near the Terrell County Gas Plant, approximately 23 miles northeast of Dryden, moving northeast at 15 mph.
This storm poses significant hazards, including 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail. The National Weather Service indicates radar confirmed these conditions. Anticipate hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. The Terrell County Gas Plant area is specifically impacted.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring, which may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This warning expires at 8:30 PM CDT.
