A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Terrell County, specifically affecting Dawson, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee, FL. This warning, issued at 10:57 PM EDT on October 9, urges immediate action as severe weather is expected.

Residents should complete preparations immediately. Wind speeds of 10-20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are forecast, with a potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Damage to structures like porches, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes is possible, along with downed tree limbs and scattered power outages.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 2-4 inches of rain expected, potentially leading to major flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely, and floodwaters could enter many structures. Heed all flood watches and warnings.

The NWS also indicates a favorable situation for several tornadoes, with a few possibly intense. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly. Those in manufactured homes or boats should relocate to safer shelter. This warning is effective immediately and expires at 7:00 AM UTC on October 10.
