Greensburg Fire Department Promotes 7, Awards Heroes
The Greensburg Fire Department promoted seven members and honored four firefighters for saving a life at its annual recognition ceremony Tuesday, July 16.
Assistant Chief Ron Reynolds received a promotion effective in 2025. Firefighters Caleb Stevens, Trent Campbell, Walker Gabbard, John Hammersmith, Ethan Ripberger, and Ethan Steele advanced to the next rank, with their promotions taking effect on their one-year anniversaries.
Lieutenant Ron Reynolds earned Firefighter of the Year for his leadership and mentorship. The Life Saving Award went to Reynolds, Hammersmith, Stevens, and Lieutenant Jarrod Prentice for successfully resuscitating a cardiac arrest patient in the past year.
Fire Chief Nathan Stoermer told attendees the ceremony celebrated the department's work while honoring the families who share their relatives with the job. Mayor Joshua Marsh said the promotions and awards reflected the dedication Greensburg's public safety team brings to the community.
