Tequesta Village Website Accessibility Improvements
The Village of Tequesta is implementing measures to make its website and social media platforms accessible to all residents, including those with disabilities. The village is continuously updating its website to meet the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA. These guidelines establish best practices for making digital content compatible with assistive technologies and improving general site usability.
The village acknowledges it does not control content provided by third-party vendors but strongly encourages them to offer accessible and user-friendly material.
Residents who experience difficulties viewing or navigating website content, or who identify features they believe are not fully accessible, should report these issues. The village will make reasonable efforts to accommodate all needs. Individuals using assistive technology who find material formats hinder their access or require information in an alternative format should also reach out. The village pledges to make reasonable efforts to fulfill these requests.
To report accessibility issues or request accommodations, residents can:
- Complete the village's Accessibility Feedback Form online.
- Email [email protected] or [email protected].
- Call the Village Clerk's Office at 561-768-0443.
- Mail correspondence to: Village of Tequesta, Attn: Village Clerk's Office, 345 Tequesta Drive, Tequesta, FL 33469.
Individuals who believe material on the site is inaccessible and may violate Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act or Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) can file a written grievance. This can be submitted through the Accessibility Feedback Form or via email. Grievances should include the individual's name, address, contact information, complaint date, a description of the problem, the URL of the problematic page, and the desired solution.
For hearing-impaired individuals, assistance is available through the Florida Relay Service by dialing 711.
These accessibility efforts are ongoing. The village takes feedback seriously and will consider it during accommodation evaluations. Residents are encouraged to inquire about accommodations for village programs as the Website ADA Transition Plan is implemented.
