The Tequesta Village Council approved the village's budget and set new utility rates for the upcoming fiscal year during its July 11, 2024, meeting.

Council members adopted Resolution No. 2024-15, finalizing the budget for the fiscal year beginning Oct. 1, 2024, and ending Sept. 30, 2025. Resolution No. 2024-16 established the millage rates for the same period.

New rates for water, sewer, and stormwater management will take effect with Resolution Nos. 2024-12 and 2024-13. Resolution No. 2024-14 amends the village code to reflect updated solid waste and recycling rates. All rate changes are effective for fiscal year 2024-2025.

The council had previously reviewed and approved preliminary budget and millage rates for the fiscal year through Resolution Nos. 2024-17 and 2024-18, following public hearings.

In other business, the council considered a grant application to Palm Beach County for the Fire Department to purchase a new fire engine. The council also approved minutes from the June 13, 2024, regular meeting.
