Jersey Mike's in Tarboro Raises $3,400 for ECC Students

Jersey Mike's in Tarboro donated $3,400 to Edgecombe Community College students during a three-day fundraiser May 5–7. The sandwich shop offered customers ECC coupons to purchase a regular sub for $5 and gave 100 percent of proceeds to the ECC Foundation.

Tyler Wooten, president of Wooten Foods, presented the donation alongside ECC Foundation leaders. The money will fund scholarships, internships, mission trips and emergency assistance.

"Their support allows the Foundation to direct all proceeds toward scholarships, internships, mission trips, emergency assistance and other programs that benefit our students," said Tameka Kenan-Norman, executive director of the ECC Foundation.
