Tampa General Opens Aortic Dissection Clinic

Tampa General Hospital's Heart & Vascular Institute has opened a dedicated Aortic Dissection Clinic to diagnose and manage complex aortic disease.
The clinic consolidates imaging, treatment planning, and follow-up care under one program. Cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, interventional specialists, and nurse coordinators work together to create treatment plans tailored to each patient's condition. The team uses high-resolution CT, MRI, and ultrasound imaging, along with 3D modeling and artificial intelligence, to plan procedures and monitor disease progression.
Patients can receive both surgical and endovascular treatments, including minimally invasive stent graft procedures and open aortic repairs. The clinic provides structured long-term follow-up with routine imaging and clinical evaluation.
Tampa General performs more than 400 thoracic and abdominal aortic procedures annually. Physicians can refer patients by calling the RN Referral Coordinator at (813) 660-6541 or emailing [email protected].
