Deacon John "Jack" Lyons, a devoted servant of the Diocese of Saint Petersburg for nearly three decades, died Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026. He was 88.

Lyons served All Saints Parish in Clearwater, ministering to the Tampa Bay community. He retired from active ministry a few years before his death due to declining health. His impact on the parish and diocese, stretching from Pinellas beaches to Tampa, will be remembered.

Services to honor Lyons' life include a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026, at Curlew Hills Funeral Home, 1750 Curlew Road, Palm Harbor. The Funeral Mass begins at 11:30 a.m. at All Saints Catholic Church, 2801 Curlew Road, Clearwater.

Lyons will be cremated. Interment arrangements will follow.

Clergy wishing to vest should bring their alb and white and gold dalmatic. Expressions of sympathy can be directed to the family c/o All Saints Catholic Church, 2801 Curlew Road, Clearwater, FL 33761.

Lyons is survived by his wife, Jean; three children; and six grandchildren.
