Iran Prepares for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's Funeral Events

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran has begun preparations for a multi-day funeral for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, whose coffin is now on public display. The ceremonies are anticipated to attract millions of mourners.

The funeral schedule includes events planned across several days. Officials expect significant public participation during this period of national mourning.

Simultaneously, peace talks involving the United States and Iran have paused. These discussions were ongoing prior to Khamenei's death.

Major General Hossein Salami, commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, appeared publicly amidst the arrangements for the funeral. Mojtaba Khamenei, a son of the deceased leader, is also expected to attend the services.
