Drivers in much of the Puget Sound region are advised to slow down and use caution due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Seattle. The advisory is in effect until 12:00 PM PDT today, October 5, 2026.

Areas of visibility one-half mile or less in dense fog are expected across portions of northwest and west central Washington. This includes the Foothills and Valleys of Thurston and Lewis Counties, the Shoreline / Lynnwood / South Everett Area, the Eastside, the City of Seattle, the Lowlands of Pierce and Southern King Counties, Olympia and Southern Puget Sound, the Lowlands of Lewis and Southern Thurston Counties, the Middle Chehalis River Valley, the Willapa and Black Hills, and both the Eastern and Western Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The NWS warns that low visibility could create hazardous driving conditions. If you are driving within these affected areas, it is crucial to slow down, use your headlights, and maintain plenty of distance from other vehicles. The advisory is expected to expire at noon today.
