Morris Saucier, Marine Veteran, Dies at 81 in Brooklet
Morris Welborn Saucier, 81, died May 30 at his home in Brooklet, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Savannah on August 1, 1944, Saucier grew up in Garden City and graduated from Groves High School. He served in the Marine Reserves and retired from UPS after a career in delivery and logistics.
Saucier lived in several Georgia communities and spent years in Maggie Valley, North Carolina. He collected classic cars and followed NASCAR, IndyCar, NHRA drag racing, and horse racing. He took frequent boat trips to Ossabaw Island, St. Catherines Island, and Daufuskie Island.
He is survived by his daughter Jennifer Gibbs and her husband Mark Gibbs, and his significant other Susan Samples. His parents, Welborn (Webb) Saucier and Laverne Baskin Saucier, and his son Michael Welborn Saucier preceded him in death.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and close friends. The family requests memorial contributions to Fixing the Boro. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory handles arrangements.
