A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Melville Foothills by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Billings, Montana, effective immediately. Residents should prepare for periods of heavy wet snow and hazardous travel conditions.

The warning is in effect from midnight Saturday night, October 10th, until 12:00 PM MDT on Monday, October 12th. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches are expected, with winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

The NWS advises that travel on US-191 through Melville could become very difficult due to snowy roads and poor visibility. If travel is unavoidable, motorists are urged to keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in their vehicle as a safety precaution. For the most current road conditions, residents can call 511.
