Staff Writer

Nine Hamilton High seniors commit to dual enrollment at WCTC

Nine Hamilton High School seniors signed contracts April 23 to participate in the Dual Enrollment Academy at Waukesha County Technical College during the 2026-27 school year.

The students will attend WCTC from 8 a.m. to noon daily while taking a fourth-block class at Hamilton. They chose from programs including automation systems, tool and die/CNC, fire/EMT, building trades, early childhood, criminal justice and information technology systems specialist.

Students who complete the academy earn a WCTC certificate or diploma plus high school credits. The program connects secondary education with workforce training.

Competition was fierce. Of 303 high school students from Waukesha County who applied to the academy, almost every program received more applicants than available spots.
