Erica Pineda Named Deputy Director of Surry County Elections

Erica Pineda has joined the Surry County Board of Elections as Deputy Director, effective December 15, 2025.

Pineda, an Elkin High School graduate, previously worked as a Voter Registration Specialist at the Wake County Board of Elections. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from NC State University in 2021 and interned at the Surry County Board of Elections in 2020 while completing her degree.

In her Wake County role, Pineda managed voter registration, oversaw absentee ballot procedures for military and overseas voters, and coordinated voting assistance at nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pineda will assist with daily operations, support staff and precinct officials, and help ensure accessible elections for county residents.
