Free Brownfields Cleanup Help in Pasco County

Staff Writer
May 26, 2026

Pasco County's Office of Economic Growth is helping commercial property owners assess and redevelop contaminated or blighted sites through its Brownfields Redevelopment Grant Program.

The EPA-funded program covers the full cost of Phase I and II environmental reports, site assessments, and cleanup planning. Property owners also receive ongoing protection if contamination emerges after the initial assessment.

Representatives from the EPA and SCS Engineers presented the program at an April 7 event at the Lewis Abraham Boys & Girls Club in Lacoochee. Redeveloped brownfield sites typically increase surrounding property values, create jobs, and open opportunities for green space.

Property owners interested in the program can contact Pasco County's Office of Economic Growth for details on eligibility and next steps.
