Bay Harbor Islands Reminds Contractors of Registration Rules

Bay Harbor Islands officials are reminding contractors of the required documentation for company registration with the town. No fee applies to this process.

Contractors must submit a Business Tax Receipt, State of Florida License, and proof of Worker's Compensation insurance. The Town of Bay Harbor Islands must be listed as the Certificate Holder on both Worker's Compensation and Liability Insurance policies. Contractors with Worker's Compensation exemptions must also submit a specific exemption form.

Additional requirements include a Certificate of Competency and a Municipal Contractor's Tax Receipt. Contractors also must provide the office number, mobile number, and email address for the company's qualifier.

Submissions are accepted through the Citizenserve online portal or via email to [email protected]. The town will verify all submitted qualifications before issuing a permit.

Insurance companies must send Certificates of Insurance directly to the town. These certificates must include a cover letter detailing the specific trades covered under the policy. The town will not grant exceptions to this requirement.
