Columbia County Urges Residents: Use 911 for Emergencies Only, Call Non-Emergency Line for General Requests

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office has noticed a rise in 911 calls for non-emergency matters and general information requests. To help us serve the community effectively, we’re asking residents to reserve the 911 Emergency System for true emergencies only.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office has noticed a rise in 911 calls for non-emergency matters and general information requests. To help us serve the community effectively, we’re asking residents to reserve the 911 Emergency System for true emergencies only. If you need to: Ask about an existing case Report a noise complaint, such as a loud neighbor Report a stray animal (yes, even a cow in your yard!) Report a non-emergency crime, such as a vehicle break-in that occurred overnight …please call our non-emergency line at (386) 719-2005 instead of 911. Reserving 911 for true emergencies helps our dispatchers respond quickly to calls involving immediate danger to life or property, and ensures fire, EMS, and law enforcement resources reach those who need them most without delay. Thank you for helping us serve Columbia County efficiently and effectively.
