A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area, Greater Reno-Carson City-Minden Area, and Western Nevada Basin and Range including Pyramid Lake. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno, NV, issued the advisory today, October 8, 2026, at 11:21 AM PDT.

The advisory is in effect from 5 AM to 11 PM PDT on Saturday, October 9, 2026. Residents and visitors should prepare for southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph. Waves on Lake Tahoe and Pyramid Lake are expected to reach 2 to 3 feet.
