A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC for multiple counties, effective from midnight tonight, October 9, until 8 AM EDT Sunday, October 11. Residents in Rabun, Habersham, Stephens, Franklin, Hart, Elbert, Anderson, Abbeville, Greenwood, Oconee, Pickens, Greenville, Avery, Henderson, Caldwell Mountains, Burke Mountains, McDowell Mountains, Rutherford Mountains, and Polk Mountains counties should prepare for strong winds.

East winds of 10 to 20 mph are expected, with gusts potentially reaching up to 46 mph. These conditions may make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Unsecured outdoor objects, including portable tents, could be blown around. There is also a risk of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages.

The National Weather Service advises using extra caution while driving. Residents should secure any loose outdoor items. Stay informed by listening to local radio, television, or NOAA Weather Radio for further updates on this developing situation.
