Residents of Oktibbeha County are under a Tropical Storm Warning, issued October 9 at 10:31 PM CDT by the National Weather Service in Jackson, MS. Preparations for hazardous wind and potential flooding should be completed immediately.

Wind speeds are forecast between 15-25 mph, with gusts up to 45 mph. There is potential for sustained winds of 39 to 57 mph. Damage to outdoor property, tree limbs, and some power outages are possible. Act now to secure loose objects.

A Flood Watch is also in effect. An additional 1-3 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, is expected. This could lead to moderate flooding, swollen rivers, and hazardous driving conditions. Be aware of potential road closures and avoid flooded areas. Evacuations and rescues are possible. Heed all flood watches and warnings.

No tornadoes are expected. This warning is effective immediately and expires October 10 at 6:45 AM UTC.
