James (Jim) Gordon Bethea

James (Jim) Gordon Bethea January 29, 1937 - June 7, 2024 James (Jim) Gordon Bethea, 87, of North Palm Beach, Florida passed away on June 7, 2024. He was born on January 29, 1937 in Dillon, South Carolina to the late John Leslie and Evelyn Bethea. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elizabeth Sue Bethea; children, James (Jay) Bethea, Jr., Leslie Ann (Tricia) Bethea, and Carol (Dee) B. Davis; as well as 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Jim loved spending time with his family and friends, was an avid golfer, loved to fish and tell stories. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in North Palm Beach, Old Marsh Golf Club, and Jupiter Hills Club. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at First Presbyterian Church in North Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim's name to First Presbyterian Church. Arrangements entrusted to Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, North Palm Beach, FL.

Polk County Clerk to Host Naturalization Ceremony in Bartow

"Bartow, FL (June 25, 2024) – The Polk County Clerk’s Office will host a naturalization ceremony on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Board of County Commissioners Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Polk County Administration Building at 330 W. Church Street in Bartow. During the ceremony, twenty-five candidates will take the Oath of Allegiance to become United States citizens. Clerk Stacy Butterfield, CPA, will preside over the ceremony and Judge Emily C. Sorey will administer the Oath of Allegiance. The ceremony is open to the public. Those attending are asked to arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to go through security."
