(Click here to report species other than dogs or cats.) Click here to view pets reported found on Petco Love Lost. Call phone numbers and scan QR codes attached to the animal's collar. Take the animal to a Veterinary Clinic to get scanned for a microchip. Walk the dog in the neighborhood where they were found and ask if anyone recognizes them. Make posters with bright backgrounds that include: 1) A single big picture highlighting the pet's face, 2) location found, and 3) your contact info. Display posters in areas where the animal was found. You can create a flyer on the Petco Love Lost platform after you complete the found animal report. BE CAUTIOUS: If someone contacts you and says they are the pet’s owner, ask them to provide proof before you meet (i.e. a photo of the person with their pet), and always meet in a public place to hand over the animal, such as a Police or Fire Station. KEEPING THE ANIMAL: The animal you found is not yours to keep and may have a preexisting medical condition that requires lifesaving medication. Their family is worried and looking for them, so please do everything in your power to help find the owner. If, after 30 days of posting the animal online and searching for their owner, you may claim ownership of the animal per Ordinance 4468-1. OTHER PLACES TO SEARCH AND POSTDog Days Search & RescueNext DoorPaw BoostRing AppMissing Pet Facebook page for your city:  Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Newbury Park, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Simi Valley, Somis, Thousand Oaks, or Ventura County. Some animals sadly enter our shelter deceased.  You can search our list of deceased animals to see descriptions and locations of deceased animals. NEW ARRIVALS All animals arriving at Ventura County Animal Services are scanned for a microchip implant.  If your pet’s microchip is registered with your current contact information, we will make every attempt to contact you.  We call phone numbers on tags and research license number.  We email and send letters if that information is available.  Animals arriving without ID are placed on a 5-day stray hold.  Animals arriving with ID tags or a microchip are placed on a 7-day stray hold.  After a stray hold has ended, the animal may be made available for adoption.  Please check each animals adoption date regularly as that date may change during their stay. CATS INDOOR-ONLY CATS:  If your cat is an indoor-only cat, they will typically stay close to home and may only travel 50 yards, about 2.5 house lengths away.  After dark, get a flashlight and slowly search the bushes around your house.  Cats instinctively hide, even if you call them.  If they are there, you’ll see their eyes reflect the light.  Ask neighbors if you can check their backyards after dark, too.  Look under decks and in bushes. OUTDOOR-ACCESS CATS:  Cats who have outdoor-access are typically found 344 yards away or 17 house lengths away.  Another reminder to keep your cats indoors.

Habit Burger & Grill Sponsors Working Wardrobes Event

" At Habit, doing good in the communities we serve is just part of who we are. We recently had the chance to show up in a meaningful way by sponsoring lunch for Working Wardrobes’ Suit Up for Success event with our catering truck, and it was a day we won’t forget. More than 100 donors came together to support young adults stepping into the workforce, bringing hundreds of pieces of professional clothing to help them feel confident and prepared for what’s next. People showed up ready to give their time and their belief in what these young adults can achieve. We were proud to serve fresh meals to attendees throughout the day, helping create a welcoming space where the focus stayed on opportunity and community. Working Wardrobes continues to do incredible work by giving people the tools they need to move forward with confidence, from career support to professional wear. Events like Suit Up for Success are a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with purpose and heart. We are grateful to have played a small role in a big day, and we are always inspired by organizations like Working Wardrobes that are making a lasting impact. If you want to get involved or support their mission, join the movement today. The post Showing Up for the Next Generation with Working Wardrobes appeared first on Habit Burger & Grill."
