"April 9, 2026 Meals On Wheels Program in Need of Volunteer Drivers in Inverness  Citrus County’s Meals On Wheels Program needs volunteers to deliver meals in the Inverness areas of Gospel Island and The Highlands.  Do you have a few hours a week to give of your time?  If so, your local Meals On Wheels Program could use your help!  We deliver meals to seniors throughout Citrus County around the lunchtime hours, Monday through Friday.  We need volunteers who are willing to give approximately 2 hours of their time, one day a week, to deliver meals to seniors.  Each meal route consists of 10 to 15 stops, taking one to two hours to complete, and you will even be reimbursed for your mileage.  Our seniors look forward to seeing our volunteers each day.  We are sure to have an opening you could fill. Many people are waiting for your assistance, so what are you waiting for? Become someone’s hero today! For more information or to become a volunteer driver, call the East Citrus Community Center at 352-344-9666. "
