St. Augustine Launches New Glass Recycling Drop-Off Program

The City of St. Augustine Solid Waste Division has launched a new drop-off glass recycling program. City crews installed five specially designed blue dumpsters with locking lids and glass-specific openings at convenient locations across the city.

Residents can bring acceptable glass containers to the following drop-off points:

• Downtown Lincolnville: 501 Riberia Street
• North City: 323 San Marco Avenue
• Anastasia Island: 143 Red Cox Drive
• West Side: 30 Pellicer Lane
• City of St. Augustine Beach: 2200 A1A South

Acceptable items include glass containers for food, beverages, hot sauces, spices, syrups, baby foods, perfume, cosmetics, and mason jars. Residents must remove all metal or plastic lids and caps and rinse containers before recycling.

The program prohibits dishware, crystal and stemware drinkware, figurines (glass, ceramic, or porcelain), automotive windows and mirrors, picture frames, tabletops, computer monitors and screens, magnifying glasses, eyewear, marbles, and light bulbs. These items should not be placed in the blue dumpsters.
