Phoenix Charter Academy Lawrence Under State Review
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is conducting a monitoring review of Phoenix Charter Academy Lawrence this week, examining the school's compliance with special education and civil rights laws.
The review focuses on five areas: special education identification and eligibility timelines, Individualized Education Program development, programming and support services, procedural requirements for suspensions, and equal opportunity. State monitors will interview staff members and evaluate whether the school meets regulatory requirements.
The Department will deliver a detailed report within approximately 60 business days. The report will identify areas where the school meets requirements and areas requiring corrective action.
