Ocean Way Festival Santa Monica: The Killers & Olivia Dean Headline

The inaugural Ocean Way Festival will bring music to the Santa Monica shoreline Sept. 26-27. Goldenvoice, the producer of the Coachella festival, is organizing the new beachfront event, which will feature rock, indie, electronic and soul artists.

The Killers and Olivia Dean will headline the festival. Other performers include Jack White, Khruangbin, Sublime, Durand Jones & The Indications, Alvvays, SG Lewis, Hiatus Kaiyote, BLOND:ISH, Poolside, Hot Chip (DJ set), Carlita, Austin Millz, Coco & Breezy, 54 Ultra, and Good Neighbours.

The festival grounds will span the sand between the Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street. A primary stage will host headliners, and a smaller stage will offer more intimate performances. Attendees can choose between standing-room areas and open spaces for blankets.

Mayor Caroline Torosis called the festival a significant addition to Santa Monica's live entertainment scene. "Santa Monica is in the middle of a renaissance," Torosis said. "The city is welcoming the world to its shores, and Ocean Way Festival is how we’re making sure our own community is at the center of it." The festival's name honors the historic Ocean Way recording studio founded by Allen Sides.
