The Hernando County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) now provides residents online tools to access public records, including arrest and offense reports, and civil data. These resources aim to simplify the process for those seeking information maintained by the Sheriff's Office.
Residents can review arrest and offense reports on the HCSO website. Users can search for arrests made by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, filtering by date ranges or by name. Offense reports also allow searches within specified date parameters.
The HCSO also links to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Sex Offender and Predator database and offers a map-based search for local offenders.
Access to civil data is available through the HCSO's public records portal. A link provides information on individuals served civil papers within the last three days. Comprehensive searches for specific individuals require entering first and last names. A delay may occur between the time of service and when the information appears in the system.
Requests for records predating Oct. 1, 1995, must be submitted formally. The Records Section homepage offers guidance on requesting records, identifying public information, and answers to frequently asked questions. Online databases contain only records not classified as confidential under Florida law.
