The Hernando County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) now provides public access to arrest and offense records through its website. Residents can use the HCSO's Public Records Inquiry system to search for arrests made by the Sheriff's Office. This system is separate from the jail search page, which lists all bookings at the Hernando County Jail.
Users can search for arrests by date, with quick links to recent days including Oct. 3, Oct. 2, Oct. 1, Sept. 30, Sept. 29, Sept. 28, and Sept. 27. Searches can also be conducted by first or last name.
Offense reports are also accessible online. Similar to arrest records, users can review reports by date, with quick links to the same recent dates. Searches for offense reports can be filtered by street name. The system defaults to the last six months of data if no date range is specified.
The Sheriff's Office also offers access to civil data, including a list of individuals served within the last three days. Users can search for papers served on a specific person by entering their first and last name. An economic crime report section is also available.
For more information on requesting records, what constitutes a public record, or to answer frequently asked questions, residents can visit the Records Section homepage on the HCSO website. The site also provides links to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Sex Offender and Predator database and a neighborhood map search for registered offenders.
